This section displays all your account information, including your username, personal contact information, and the secret questions & answers you selected when you signed up. It’s vital that this information is kept up to date and correct as it’s what will be used when we need to contact you or confirm your identity. If you have any credit in your account, it will also be displayed here.
Please be aware, that this information is under ourĀ Privacy Agreement with you and won’t be discussed or disclosed to anybody without first getting proper verification [3 security answers for example]. Your information is also bound under the ‘Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act‘ [PIPEDA] in Canada.
To edit any of this information, as well as changing your password, click the EDIT button and make whatever changes you wish. When you’re done, click NEXT to be brought back to the page with the changes saved. If you want to undo the changes before saving, click RESET.
For SECRET QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS, these will be called upon anytime you need to authorise yourself as the account holder. easyDNS does offer a more enhanced security option for this which is described in our Account Security article found here. We strongly recommend reviewing the account security options for the protection of your domains and data.
The OTHER OPTIONS section lets you know what special options you may have access to and whether they are enabled.
To gain access to new features that are still in Beta (examples are DNSSEC V2 and the new DNS editor), select ‘Beta User’ to enable Beta access from the pulldown menu and click ‘next’ to commit to the update.
Account Password
The password can only contain upper and lower case Latin unaccented alphabet letters, numbers, and the following special characters: – _ ! @ # $ % ^ & *
Passwords have a limited range of 8 to 128 characters.
Account Username
The username can only contain lowercase, unaccented letters, numbers, periods, underscores, and the “@” sign. Usernames cannot be modified once created.
